Product Information For The Freshman FA1-DLX Acoustic Guitar

This Dreadnought style acoustic guitar is a very special instrument from the Freshman range. It is a Limited Edition of which only 400 have been made for the world and has a unique designed rosette in marquetry which gives the guitar a very distinctive appearance.

The Freshman FA1-DLX top is AA High Grade Canadian solid Sitka Spruce and the back and sides are AAA graded laminated Mahogany. The neck is also Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard and the bridge is Rosewood. The Machine Heads are top quality gold plated Grovers and the strings are D'addario 12-54 light gauge.

The Freshman FA1-DLX model has the lovely light feel of an acoustic guitar costing 3 times the price. It is very responsive and sustains and rings beautifully. Maybe it is the action, or the solid spruce top or the smooth neck, but the feel and sound are simply awesome.

Freshman, a Scottish company, source their tone woods very carefully from around the world. The Sitka Spruce top used on this guitar is a fine example from Canada. Unlike a laminated top, a solid top of this quality will not only sound great now but as the years pass, it will improve. As the wood matures further and the instrument is played the sound becomes even richer.

This is a great guitar for a serious player at a low price for its quality, and a guitar that, with its distinctive Rosette, is quite unique.
